What's This?
if you ask any Kenyan about their capital city, they will tell you it is,
“MJI YA WAJANJA”
Which loosely translates to a city of tricksters. To walk on these very streets I have grown to call home is to be on your toes -literally. You have to be smart to survive in Nairobi. If you drop your ball for a second, you get conned.

Perhaps that is why Nairobi has been considered the smartest city in Africa. Because the residents are always sharp. Evolution if you will.
And so for a second year in a row Nairobi has been named the smartest city in Africa.Sadly, we failed, however, to make it to the world’s top seven finalists.
nairobi the most intelligent city in Africa
That said the criteria that has been used to choose the most intelligent cities according to the Intelligent Community Forum was;
INTELLIGENT COMMUNITIES” ARE THOSE THAT HAVE TAKEN “CONSCIOUS STEPS” TO CREATE AN ECONOMY THAT CAN PROSPER IN THE “BROADBAND ECONOMY.” THE GROUP HAS RECENTLY RELEASED ITS LATEST RANKINGS, RECOGNIZING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE BUILT INCLUSIVE, PROSPEROUS ECONOMIES ON A BASIS OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES.
Nairobi was the only African city to appear on their shortlist of 21 hubs throughout the world for 2015.

    Victor Wanyama Causes Controversy with His Latest Outfit...Even Dennis Oliech's Skirt Was Not This Controversial (Photo)
    In 2012, Dennis "the menace" Oliech stepped out in a maxi skirt for the July 2012 edition of Blankets and wine. His fashion statement was lost to Kenyans who were baffled by this skirt-wearing man and soon he was the talk of the town.
    However this fashion statement cannot beat what Victor Wanyama wore , a picture of the Southampton Midfielder surfaced recently of him rocking a T-Shirt that bore the Confederate Flag at the front.
    A flag that has for a longtime represented racism, many pre-Civil War injustices, murderous narrow-mindedness ,slavery and white supremacy in America especially in the South. It is also used by Skinheads and neo-Nazis in Germany after the Swastika was banned.
    A flag that Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old white man who killed 14 black people in Charleston S. Carolina had posed with in photos posted on a white supremacist website.

    So you can now see why Victor Wanyama is getting some flack for this photo.

    What's This?
    First of all, I’d like to state that I don’t have anything against Nairobi women, and NOT all Nairobi Ladies have these uncouth habits.
    It’s a fact that Kenyans are wannabes, everyone trying to be like someone else. That’s why we have all these fake accents around. But at the end of the day, as someone once said; the secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.
    If Nairobi ladies can do away with these seven annoying habits, then they should be treated with all the respect they deserve, until then;

    1. Smelly Weaves –  Wherever the country your weaves, please just make sure it’s clean and well taken care of. Some ladies have weaves that smell of cigarettes and onions.

    2. Asking For Credit – “Babe aki it’s midnight, and I left my M-Pesa pin at the office, please send me credit we chat”. That’s a text from a basic Nairobi woman.

    3. Acquiring taste at someone else’s expense – You take a Nairobi lady to a club, and she asks for the most expensive drink that she can’t even pronounce.

    4.Entitlement – Nairobi women expect you to do everything for them, for the sake of being a “gentleman”, some men do. It’s not like men are entitled to pay all your bills, sometimes you need to sought yourself out.

    5. Fake Accent –  This is definitely one of the most annoying things. Almost all ladies in Nairobi nowadays have lived in Europe and America, even those who are from Kinoo have accents.

    6. Letting go of their bodies – Some women don’t love their bodies. They eat all sought of junk foods and can’t even get close to the gym. Few weeks later cellulite and hanging tummy.

    7. Wearing clothes that don’t fit them – As a woman, you need to be keen with what you put on before going anywhere. But since you pretend that you love Louis Vuitton so much, you go to a store and the only size available is XL, you decide to take it anyway. Nairobi_Ladies

    Dealing With Stress

    In order to avoid the effects of stress on the body, there are several measures that can be taken to cope, prevent and even reduce stress.  The first step to stress management is recognizing and accepting the current situation. It is only then that an individual can be able to take necessary measures of control. Finding ways to deal better with stress is important as stressful factors and occasions are bound to happen to all in life. One way of dealing with stress is ensuring the goals that one set are realistic. It is also important to set priorities to avoid getting overwhelmed with responsibilities. Day to day activities should be balanced so as to avoid the pressures of meeting deadlines. Allocate appropriate time for going to work, school, spending time with family and friends and resting. Set time aside to do things that keep an individual relaxed. This can be through exercising, taking a bath, listening to music or doing yoga.

     Identifying stressful point sources and avoiding is another way of dealing with stress. These sources can be related to individual habits, friends and attitude. For example, there are some people who due to the nature of the relationship may cause continuous stress to others. Limiting the amount of time that one spends with such kind of people will be critical to preventing stress. In addition, expressing one’s emotions and communicating it as soon a stressful situation arises is healthier than holding it in which increases the amount of stress.

    There are certain situations in life that people cannot change, for example, the death of a loved one. In this kind of situation, finding ways to adapt is essential. Dealing with stress in this case will require a person to view the problem differently and adjusting one’s attitude to deal with the situation better. Focusing on the positive side of a bad situation helps keeps things in perspective and find alternative solutions. Lack of enough sleep may contribute to increased stress.  Management of stress also requires people to avoid substances that may cause a person to avoid dealing with an issue.

    It is important to note that people deal with stress differently and as such finding ways that are effective to an individual is critical. A person needs to undertake activities which they enjoy most. Dealing with stress demands maintaining a healthy lifestyle in diet, balanced routine, exercise and interact with trustworthy persons and always have an optimistic attitude
