What's This?
if you ask any Kenyan about their capital city, they will tell you it is,
“MJI YA WAJANJA”
Which loosely translates to a city of tricksters. To walk on these very streets I have grown to call home is to be on your toes -literally. You have to be smart to survive in Nairobi. If you drop your ball for a second, you get conned.

Perhaps that is why Nairobi has been considered the smartest city in Africa. Because the residents are always sharp. Evolution if you will.
And so for a second year in a row Nairobi has been named the smartest city in Africa.Sadly, we failed, however, to make it to the world’s top seven finalists.
nairobi the most intelligent city in Africa
That said the criteria that has been used to choose the most intelligent cities according to the Intelligent Community Forum was;
INTELLIGENT COMMUNITIES” ARE THOSE THAT HAVE TAKEN “CONSCIOUS STEPS” TO CREATE AN ECONOMY THAT CAN PROSPER IN THE “BROADBAND ECONOMY.” THE GROUP HAS RECENTLY RELEASED ITS LATEST RANKINGS, RECOGNIZING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE BUILT INCLUSIVE, PROSPEROUS ECONOMIES ON A BASIS OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES.
Nairobi was the only African city to appear on their shortlist of 21 hubs throughout the world for 2015.

Waititu: I am uncivilised but effective

Waititu: I am uncivilised but effective
Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu has defended his decision to raid bars in Kabete Constituency terming his actions as ‘uncivilised but necessary’.
Speaking to Willis Raburu during the Power Breakfast show on Citizen TV Monday morning, Mr Waititu lamented that illicit brews have rendered youths in Kabete and the larger Mount Kenya region useless.
He claimed that the residents begun the initiative to rid the area of illicit brew which he supported.
“Residents spotted the pick-up vehicle that was bringing the alcohol and threatened to torch it but I advised them against it, that’s when we resolved to raid the bars,” he said.
The legislator intimated that a majority of Kabete residents, including the clergy and women, were in support of his actions.
Asked whether he had tried using legal means before, Waititu admitted that he had tried but the move proved fruitless because the bars were legally licensed hence the owners could not be arrested.
“We did that out of desperation because the government could not solve our problem,” he said, adding that in the absence of a solution they would use any means necessary.
The MP stated that since his election, his constituency had lost ten youths to illicit brew, adding that when the life of a youth is lost to make a profit it is a ‘sin before God and man’.
He accused bar owners of greed saying their only concern is making a profit even at the expense of human life.
He said that the people selling the illicit brew are Kenyans from the Kikuyu community and they cannot sell it to other communities.
He promised to continue raiding bars because that’s what his electorate wants, saying “People can say anything but it’s the electorate who matter and I will stand by my people to fulfill the promise of dealing with illicit brew”.
Waititu on Friday led Kabete residents in raiding bars in the area, which he accused of ruining the lives of young people.
The move, however, received mixed reactions from members of the public with some praising it while others criticised it as the youths looted the bars and drunk the alcohol.
A member of the bar owners association also threatened to sue the politician for the wanton destruction of private property.
On his political ambitions, the Kabete MP confirmed his desire to vie for the Kiambu governor seat.
He expressed optimism in unseating the incumbent Governor William Kabogo, saying that it was the people’s decision to make and he believes they would choose him.
“I know he is going home,” he quipped.

An underdog outmaneuvered continental heavyweights to bag the prestigious BET Award; Best International Act: Africa
Last night, international artists and fans gathered the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California to witness musicians getting feted.
To Kenyans, other categories weren’t of much interest like Best International Act: Africa. It’s in that category that our boys Sauti Sol was nominated.
They were pitted against; AKA (South Africa), Sarkodie (Ghana), Fally Ipupa (DRC), The Soil (South Africa), Yemi Alade (Nigeria) and… Stonebwoy (Ghana).
(In whisper)The last one I mentioned was the one who won in that category! Does anyone know him or better has anyone hard about him?

Victor Wanyama Causes Controversy with His Latest Outfit...Even Dennis Oliech's Skirt Was Not This Controversial (Photo)
In 2012, Dennis "the menace" Oliech stepped out in a maxi skirt for the July 2012 edition of Blankets and wine. His fashion statement was lost to Kenyans who were baffled by this skirt-wearing man and soon he was the talk of the town.
However this fashion statement cannot beat what Victor Wanyama wore , a picture of the Southampton Midfielder surfaced recently of him rocking a T-Shirt that bore the Confederate Flag at the front.
A flag that has for a longtime represented racism, many pre-Civil War injustices, murderous narrow-mindedness ,slavery and white supremacy in America especially in the South. It is also used by Skinheads and neo-Nazis in Germany after the Swastika was banned.
A flag that Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old white man who killed 14 black people in Charleston S. Carolina had posed with in photos posted on a white supremacist website.

So you can now see why Victor Wanyama is getting some flack for this photo.

Most Secured Aircraft In The World – The Features On The Plane Of The President Of The United State Of America Will Blow Your Mind [Photos]

The features on the plane of the president of the United State of America will blow your mind... literally. The world's most famous plane, a custom Boeing 747-200B, is as tall as a six-story, has a 'flying Oval office', conference room, dining room, private quarters for the president, a medical operating room (a doctor flies on every flight) but that's not the coolest part...not even close. The body of the plane can withstand a nuclear blast from the ground and more cool stuff. See after the cut

      What's This?
First of all, I’d like to state that I don’t have anything against Nairobi women, and NOT all Nairobi Ladies have these uncouth habits.
It’s a fact that Kenyans are wannabes, everyone trying to be like someone else. That’s why we have all these fake accents around. But at the end of the day, as someone once said; the secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.
      If Nairobi ladies can do away with these seven annoying habits, then they should be treated with all the respect they deserve, until then;
      Nairobi_Ladies

      1. Smelly Weaves –  Wherever the country your weaves, please just make sure it’s clean and well taken care of. Some ladies have weaves that smell of cigarettes and onions.
      Nairobi_Ladies

      2. Asking For Credit – “Babe aki it’s midnight, and I left my M-Pesa pin at the office, please send me credit we chat”. That’s a text from a basic Nairobi woman.
      Nairobi_Ladies

      3. Acquiring taste at someone else’s expense – You take a Nairobi lady to a club, and she asks for the most expensive drink that she can’t even pronounce.
      Nairobi_Ladies

4.Entitlement – Nairobi women expect you to do everything for them, for the sake of being a “gentleman”, some men do. It’s not like men are entitled to pay all your bills, sometimes you need to sought yourself out.
      Nairobi_Ladies

      5. Fake Accent –  This is definitely one of the most annoying things. Almost all ladies in Nairobi nowadays have lived in Europe and America, even those who are from Kinoo have accents.
      Nairobi_Ladies

      6. Letting go of their bodies – Some women don’t love their bodies. They eat all sought of junk foods and can’t even get close to the gym. Few weeks later cellulite and hanging tummy.

      7. Wearing clothes that don’t fit them – As a woman, you need to be keen with what you put on before going anywhere. But since you pretend that you love Louis Vuitton so much, you go to a store and the only size available is XL, you decide to take it anyway. Nairobi_Ladies
